 The World is Big Designs

IMG_4736.jpeg

Hello my name is Kat Wilson I am a MultiMedia artist based in Denver Colorado.

I began my freelance career in 2017 after graduating high school. During 2019 I had my first collective art show through Scum of the Earth Church. In 2020 I received an Associates degree in Fine Arts with a focus in Communications from The Community College of Denver. It's here where I met some of my greatest influences at this point in my life, including Charles Parsons, a local painter best known for his dinosaur murals at the Museum of Nature and Science. He was one of the first people to help me realize that being creative is more than just an occupation or a hobby, but a way of life.

“Creative living is any life that you live where your decisions are based more strongly in your curiosity than your fear.” - Elizabeth Gilbert

My art has become an  exploration of femininity, sexuality and the intricate cycles of life, my multidisciplinary creative practice allows me to express these themes from a deeply personal perspective. Whether I'm painting landscapes, illustrating my inner psyche, or capturing moments through photography, each piece is infused with a sense of  reverence for the world around me. It's my joy to share these reflections with you, inviting you to join me on a journey led by curiosity and a celebration of life.

My main mission is to connect with people and continue to add my life experiences through my creative practice. At 24 years old I feel as if I will find my place as a stranger. I want to learn more of the hidden joys and evolving stories the world has to offer, its something I feel I won’t find in the classroom. As I immerse myself into the world around me I see my art as a reflection for the connections I have made and the emotional depths they have brought me. To continue this practice I have decided to take 3 Months traveling through Italy to broaden my skills as an artists and focus my time on building the foundations of my practice. My hope is that my time away will only add to my worldview, and my body of work will reflect these new connectiuons, to live a life lead by curiosity.
